Mr Ellison is not afraid to speak his mind which is good news, GW has been touting God every day of his term. The only reason people are taking notice is that this fellow is Muslim. Wait until the mainstream press realizes Barack Obamas middle name is Hussein....

Now that is something I was unaware of, I wonder how the media and right wing will use that information as the election draws nearer. I cannot believe that they would leave the name Hussein not make some sort of news. However that being said I do think that Mr Obama is an effective representative and sounds like a very good candidate.

Obama's middle name did make the rounds on talk shows, more as a joke, and more due to its similarity with Saddam Hussein, rather than his partial Islamic heritage.  By this time next year, Saddam will have been forgotten, and given the PC attitudes that dominate both parties, this is unlikely to come up.

I hope that it does not become a factor and believe he and Mr Ellison deserve to prove themselves before jugdement is rendered on them. I think that in a few months Mr Ellison's choice to be sworn in on the Koran will be forgotten as well and people will see that it was a big stink about nothing. From what I have read he is a very effective representative for his constituents.

Keith Ellison has admitted that he was a member of Nation of Islam, a Black supremacist group which demonizes Whites and Jews. Ellison has failed to adequately and clearly condemn that racist organization.

Also, of course, Ellison has failed to condemn that book of hate and terror, the Koran; worse, he has endorsed it 100% and thus has, in effect, either tacitly declared his opposition to non-Muslims, or else shown that he is ignorant of the contents of the book. There are no excuses for an educated man such as Ellison to be endorsing such an atrocious book as the Koran.

Mr Ellison has never admitted he was a member of the NOI nor hav e they indicated he was. He wrote a few position papers for them, get your facts straight.

I suspect you are playing semantics with the word "member." Ellison's involvement with NOI goes far beyond mere membership, because he (a.k.a Keith Hakim, Keith X Ellison and Keith Ellison-Muhammad) himself was engaged in writing NOI propaganda and organizing, and spans far beyond the "18 months" to which he admitted. The public record indicates that his involvement with NOI spans at least 1989-1995.

Ellison's present claim that he did not know about the NOI's anti-white and anti-Jewish beliefs and objectives is about as credible as a former KKK member claiming that he didn't know about their white-supremacist views. It is absolutely absurd. Either Ellison is incompetent, or he is lying.

Ellison's apology to one Jewish organization is not only inadequate but is also suspect, because he didn't apologize until it was politically useful for him to do so. Why did it take him so long to denounce the NOI?

Of present concern are Ellison's connections to CAIR, which itself is tied to HAMAS--another genocidal organization, and his claim to be a follower of the Koran, which has been shown to be predominantly a book of hate and Muslim supremacism. If Ellison believes in the Koran, then he believes and approves of non-Muslims being tortured and burned for all eternity simply because they are not Muslim like him.

I hypothesize, like you with me, that you are a frustrated white american male whom needs to take his frustration of failure to a blog because he cannot adequately deal with people in person, again a hypothesis so prove it wrong. Ellison was elected by a non muslimwhite majority and that is fact. He admited his miss-steps inhis youth and has now begun a career of serving the public of the USA.

Wrong again. Also, you do not hypothesize like me at all. I'm not interested in your skin color, for one thing, but I do hypothesize that you are a liar, or at least that you have lied on multiple occasions in our Forum. [And yes, you did just utter a racist slur above]

I can deal with people in person or on this Forum; the fact that I post here no more suggests that I am "frustrated" than you are, as you also post here. I might add that you seem exceptionally determined--perhaps even obsessed--with posting here. Me? I do it because I have a job to do here. The media, with some exceptions, is slack and lacks knowledge and critical perspective in its treatment Islam*, ergo some of us volunteers have to pick up the slack.

*Of course, that is true of the media on a variety of topics.

And what were you saying before about being an infrequent poster? My, my, you seemed to have become a frequent regular very quickly.
