I contend that if the Bush administration had brought to bear the full power of the armed forces to afghanistan and pakistan, and not be so worried about Mr Musharif maintaining his power ( from a coup neverless) we would be far better off as the world would be today. Instead the initial minor fighting in afghanistan was labelled a victory ( it was for opium growers..) and used as an excuse to go into Iraq for no other reason than a vendetta. now we wonder why the majority of arabs, muslims are mad at the US...maybe they saw the truth while we had our blinders on.
