Islam Watch - "Apostasy in Islam" by Imran Hossain

I have read what Sister Syeda wrote to The Daily Star (a leading English newspaper in Bangladesh) about apostasy in Islam. She is no different than other modern Islam apologists. She comes with many points to name Islam is a peaceful religion. She tries to say that Islam has more tolerance than other religions about Murtads (apostates). She has seen just one side. I would like to discuss with her. But I wonder if she is willing to have a debate with me. She is certainly a good human being and good at her engineering profession. However she is not a good Muslim. Good Muslims are those who fully go by Al-Koran and Ahadhiths.

Sister Syeda obviously thinks that people in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) hide the beauty of Islam for their practice! She has mentioned some verses that support the liberality in Islam and apostasy can not punishable by death. But Surahs from Al-Koran need to be studied with their backgrounds (Shane Nujols). Every Surah has a history behind it. She has actually missed to read the Shane Nujols before writing the statement.

In the early revelation, Mohamed was weak and his power was limited. He did not have his many followers with him. When Mohamed faced his opponents (of a large number), he told "there is no compulsion in religion" (2:256). But his honest quality had been changed when he was able to grab many people into the fold of Islam. He then asked pagans, Jews, tribes etc to convert to his brand religion Islam. Those who did not go with Mohamed, he raided and killed them, and asked his followers to kill "wherever" they find Kaffirs. We need to read Al-Koran with Shane Nujuls and Ahadiths in order to know what exactly happened. We find lots of killing commands in later verses. I am here producing some verses that encourage Islam practitioners to kill Murtads, and were revealed when Mohamed had power.

004.089: They desire that you should disbelieve as they have disbelieved, so that you might be (all) alike; therefore take not from among them friends until they fly (their homes) in Allah's way; but if they turn back, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and take not from among them a friend or a helper.

009.066: Make no excuse. Ye have disbelieved after your (confession of) belief. If We forgive a party of you, a party of you We shall punish because they have been guilty.

009.074: They swear by Allah that they did not speak, and certainly they did speak, the word of unbelief, and disbelieved after their Islam, and they had determined upon what they have not been able to effect, and they did not find fault except because Allah and His Messenger enriched them out of His grace; therefore if they repent, it will be good for them; and if they turn back, Allah will chastise them with a painful chastisement in this world and the hereafter, and they shall not have in the land any guardian or a helper.

002.027: Who break the covenant of Allah after its confirmation and cut asunder what Allah has ordered to be joined, and make mischief in the land; these it is that are the losers.

047.025: Surely (as for) those who return on their backs after that guidance has become manifest to them, the Shaitan has made it a light matter to them; and He gives them respite.

047.026: That is because they say to those who hate what Allah has revealed: We will obey you in some of the affairs; and Allah knows their secrets.

003.090: Surely, those who disbelieve and die while they are unbelievers, the earth full of gold shall not be accepted from one of them, though he should offer to ransom himself with it, these it is who shall have a painful chastisement, and they shall have no helpers.

Volume 9, Book 84, Number 53: Narrated 'Abdullah: When the Verse: 'It is those who believe and confuse not their belief with wrong (i.e., worshipping others besides Allah): (6.82) was revealed, it became very hard on the companions of the Prophet and they said, "Who among us has not confused his belief with wrong (oppression)?" On that, Allah's Apostle said, "This is not meant (by the Verse). Don't you listen to Luqman's statement: 'Verily! Joining others in worship with Allah is a great wrong indeed.' (31.13)

Volume 9, Book 84, Number 58: Narrated Abu Burda: .... Behold: There was a fettered man beside Abu Muisa. Mu'adh asked, "Who is this (man)?" Abu Muisa said, "He was a Jew and became a Muslim and then reverted back to Judaism." Then Abu Muisa requested Mu'adh to sit down but Mu'adh said, "I will not sit down till he has been killed. This is the judgment of Allah and His Apostle (for such cases) and repeated it thrice. Then Abu Musa ordered that the man be killed, and he was killed. Abu Musa added, "Then we discussed the night prayers and one of us said, 'I pray and sleep, and I hope that Allah will reward me for my sleep as well as for my prayers.'"

Volume 9, Book 83, Number 17: Narrated 'Abdullah: Allah's Apostle said, "The blood of a Muslim who confesses that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that I am His Apostle, cannot be shed except in three cases: In Qisas for murder, a married person who commits illegal sexual intercourse and the one who reverts from Islam (apostate) and leaves the Muslims."

Volume 9, Book 89, Number 271: Narrated Abu Musa: A man embraced Islam and then reverted back to Judaism. Mu'adh bin Jabal came and saw the man with Abu Musa. Mu'adh asked, "What is wrong with this (man)?" Abu Musa replied, "He embraced Islam and then reverted back to Judaism." Mu'adh said, "I will not sit down unless you kill him (as it is) the verdict of Allah and His Apostle.

Volume 4, Book 52, Number 260: Narrated Ikrima: Ali burnt some people and this news reached Ibn 'Abbas, who said, "Had I been in his place I would not have burnt them, as the Prophet said, 'Don't punish (anybody) with Allah's Punishment.' No doubt, I would have killed them, for the Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him.' "

Muratds do not love (or they hate) Allah and Mohamed, so they do not want to remain in Islam. They criticise and they leave Islam. That is because Muratds are considered as enemy of Allah. Suppose that I do not wish to remain in Islam because I do not like its system. So I am considered to wage war against Islam. I become enemy of Islam. In addition, in the pure Islamic countries, if any ex-Muslim prefers other religions to go with to Islam, it is considered to be fighting against Islam. Therefore, apostasy is prohibited in the pure Islamic countries, and is punishable by mutilating (till death). Here is the punishment of those who speak against Islam.

005.033: The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter;

Arabic people hopefully understand Islam much better than Syeda or other non-Arabic Muslims. Pure Islamic countries like KSA, Iran, and former Afghanistan (Talibani) legislate (d) the death penalty for Murtads if they continue to deny Islam. In some cases, they are given a chance to come back to Islam for real. If they decline to accept Islam, they are killed (beheaded). Why don't people like Syeda go to one of those countries and simply declare them Murtads, just for a test. They will get a due punishment by listening Allah-u-Akbar!

Common Muslims should not be guided by the modern (ignorant) Islam apologists. The defenders feel now embarrassed what Islam says about apostasy! They try to soften the Islamic punishments. They will be stoned to death in the pure Islamic soils with respect to Sharia Law. I have sent them a lot of e-mails to have a debate with me. None of them have responded yet. The puzzling thing is these apologists live outside KSA, Iran, or former Afghanistan (Talibani). And they all write their books and design their websites residing in the Kaffir West or in other liberal countries with much of western comfort. They do not dare to brag out, and write books and design modern Islamic websites residing under the Islamic law. Here is the difference.

There are hundreds of thousands of Murtads among Muslims. Most of them are silent. They are insulted, exhaled, or killed for leaving Islam. That is why they are silent. Their books are burnt. Their freedom of speech is revoked. Shouldn't Syeda agree with me? Islam apologists like her do not want to agree, but this is their own wish that does not match with Islam.

Bangladesh, Malaysia, or Indonesia is not a true Islamic country. These countries do not have Sharia Law. These countries have their own legislations and Common Law (English Law). But the countries like KSA, Iran, or Afghanistan (Talibani) has (d) Sharia Law. From time to time verses were revealed. And Mohamed spoke and ordered his rules to his followers. Sharia Law has been adopted from Al-Koran and Ahadiths. According to what Mohamed did and Islam says Murtads deserve death. Praying (salat), Fasiting, Jakah, Iman (belief), and Hajj do not make a Muslim a good Islam follower. If he wants to go with Islam, he must follow its all teaching methods and what its founder did. People in Arab typically go with "the teaching methods" that is why apostasy is punishable by death in there. Mullahs, Imam, or pure Muslims who live outside the West or any Kaffir land say the same that I wrote today.
