Nobody can deny that the United
States of America is in the middle of a war. Our way of life and
our freedoms are under attack from all sides. Our enemy,
Islamist fascism, is determined to replace our American civic
religion by its own absolutist ideology - Wahhabism. To destroy
our civilization, it is ready to go to any length. It has
already used homicide bombers, improvised explosive devises,
madrassas, Islamic centers and mosques to perpetuate jihad in
the U.S. and now is ready to employ the most effective and the
most lethal weapon to defeat us – our own democracy.
For radical Islam, there is much
to rejoice in the news that Muslims have finally come of age in
terms of political representation and are ready to influence the
direction of public policy in the U.S. Islamists are confident
that they can now use the power of un-suspecting Muslim American
voters in the service of global jihad. One of the avenues that
the Islamists are going to use in trying to change the direction
of American policies is the institution of debate and discussion
that is an integral part of any democratic society. But unlike
the citizens of a western democracy who use their right of
freedom of expression to consolidate the freedoms and advance
the causes of progress and intellectual prosperity, Islamists
will try to use it to perpetuate their anti-American agenda and
empower global jihad.
On close scrutiny, it becomes
clear that being fascists in their ideology, Islamists are
following in the foot steps of the Nazi party in using the
existing democratic setup of the U.S. to launch themselves up
into power.
After the failed attempt in 1923 to gain power by force, Hitler
realized that it was more feasible to build the Nazi party up
“within the framework of the Constitution”. Hitler said in 1925:
“If out-voting them takes longer than out-shooting them, at
least the result would be guaranteed by their own
constitution...Any lawful process is slow...Sooner or later we
shall have a majority—and after that, Germany”. To Hitler, no
cost was too high for triumph; in overthrowing the Republic in
1933, Hitler made good on his vow to “
destroy
democracy with the weapons of democracy.” And so will the
Islamists in the U.S. if we will fail to stop them from using
our constitutional freedoms to subvert our democracy.
Islamists at this stage in the
war, want to use our democratic process to render our security
laws like the Patriotic Act toothless, so that the Islamist
fascists can act with impunity. In order to bring our open
society down, they are using every possible opportunity, like in
today’s mid term elections, they want Democrats to win because
they believe that Democrats will work to weaken the security
apparatus as instituted by the Republicans to defeat the
terrorists. After carefully examining the performance of
democrats on
the national security legislation
and Islamists have ascertained
that the democrats are the only group whose
voting pattern tends
to support
terrorists’ rights over Americans’ rights. And that was
enough for them to throw their weight behind the Democrats.
Convinced that once the Democrats
will win the control of the House and Senate, they will either
abrogate the security laws like the Patriotic Act or soften it
so much that it will then easily be exploited by them, the
Islamists have launched a concerted campaign to convince the
Muslims to back the Democrats. The instructions and commands
being issued from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan and other
centers of global jihad are clear on the issue.
The Kuwaiti daily Al-Seyassah’s
October 29 “Digest of Public Opinion” discussed the midterm
elections, saying that if “extremists such as Bush, Cheney,
Rumsfeld, Rice, and the Republicans at large rule longer,
America will likely be transformed into a dictatorship and as
such we expect that the situation currently existing in
Guantanamo is likely to
face the Americans themselves. … Consequently, most political
observers are currently expecting the Republicans to incur an
overwhelming defeat during the upcoming congressional
elections.”
An editorial in the October 19–25
Egyptian state-run English-language weekly Al-Ahram said, “The
Republican Party is in
so much trouble it may risk a major confrontation in the Middle
East before half-term congressional elections in November.
Republicans are far behind in the polls.” The columnist Sandy
Shanks wrote on
Al-Jazeera’s Web site on
October 22, “If the
Democratic Party seizes
Congress or the Senate. … This might even open the door for
impeachment,” He asked rhetorically, “How badly does Bush want
to win next month?”
The August 30 edition of the
London-based
Arabic-language daily Asharq Al-Awsat featured “The U.S.
Republican Party and Defeat,” an article by an
Al-Arabiya TV host and
columnist, Hussein Shobokshi. “The Republican Party is beginning
to see the danger signs and recognize that the current
administration will cause it to lose … and suffer a defeat in
the next elections,” he wrote.
Recently, a group of Arab
diplomats that included the leaders of
Hamas and
Islamic Jihad and
Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki
of Iran met in
Damascus. Among the
topics of discussion was the American elections, Mr. Mottaki
called Mr. Bush a “loser” and said that after next week’s
elections, the president will be politically paralyzed and
unable to initiate any political moves.
As he discussed the upcoming
elections before a crowd chanting “death to America, death to
Israel,” Hojatoleslam
Ahmad Khatami, who led last week’s Friday prayers in
Tehran, said: “The
savage and devilish acts and performances of Bush, as a
Republican, have placed his party in a very critical condition.”
An editorial in the October 27
Saudi English-language daily Arab News said, “As the hours tick
by to the November 7 midterm election, the Bush administration
is wiggling frantically on the butcher’s hook.” The editorial
criticized American actions in
Iraq and Mr. Bush for
“trying to bolster electoral support for his Republican Party at
the ballot box.” [

Afraid that if their real agenda of empowering Islamist fascism
is known to the ordinary mosque going Muslims, they may not
support them, Islamist leaders have worked very hard to cloak
their real agenda in terms of civil liberty issues. They did not
tell the Muslims the real reasons behind their push to back the
Democrats. They used the same arguments as were being used by
the left and liberal groups and by adding their own spin to make
it palatable to their Muslim audience succeeded in turning them
against the steps the U.S. took to secure itself.
American Muslims were told that
the U.S. war on terror is basically a war on Islam and the
invasion of Iraq was aimed at empowering Israel. They were told
that Iran has a right to develop the nuclear weapons. Using
their control over Islamic centers and most of the mosques in
the U.S., Radical Islamist leadership harnessed the liberal and
left leaning tendencies in the American Muslims to turn them
against most of the steps taken by the Bush administration in
the aftermath of September 11, 2001, to secure America as Islam
specific.
Muslims need to know the truth:
Republican policies are not anti-Muslim. Islamist leaders are
projecting these policies as anti-Islam only because they want
to help their global jihad. Now that Muslims, according to a
survey, have come of age in terms of political representation,
they have a responsibility to expose a leadership that has been
using them to advance the cause of anti-Americanism. Muslims
will have to remember that their power is only because of
democracy and by following radical Islam they will only be
undermining their own authority. A democracy is a terrible thing
to waste.
