1. Farooq is not a religious leader. He is merely a committe member involved with raising funds. 2. He doesnt own a beard 3. The charge against 3rd girl was dropped as they wouldnt come to court as they were lying. 4. These girls were no innocent teenagers. The main one had her stomach pumped at hospital a few days before for underage drinking and claims she doesnt keep male company anymore - well she was out in town less than a week later on her own with 4 guys. 5. The other one recently had 5 guys one after another at a party and although Farooq had 2 witnesses to say he was never alone with her and that she robbed a vending machine and bottle of booze from his restaurant the jury still found him guilty (as a majority - not unanimously) although this was after a whole day of deliberating which would indicate that there was some serious doubt 6. These chavs were out for money and their parents are a mix of drug addicts, alcoholics and dont give a shit about their kid types in reality 7. The papers never print the truth as they wouldnt make any money 8. The papers contribute to the Islamaphobia which you guys on this website also propogate.

when i was working in the middle east my 'boss' made these same moves on me, for years - (and he was supposed to be pious), so i don't doubt these allegations are founded. i only wonder if perhaps muslim men go to some kind of special schooling to find out the moves, lines, and how to justify themselves at prayer times. Can someone please enlighten me? A man has been lawfully convicted of sexual offences against underage girls, and yes the term paedophilia certainly does apply to this issue. The man gave the outward appearance of being pious in his religion, which in this case happens to be Islam. There have been other documented cases involving so called pious Catholics, Protestants and member of the Jewish faith. I have no vested interest, I am totally non religious, and have both Christian and Muslim friends. It is totally unfair to equate the crimes of one man against his professed religion. I cannot see what religion has to do with these crimes. They were not committed in Mosque property or had any connection within the Mosque in Perth, or any other Mosque for that matter, nor was there any other member of the Muslim faith involved. In short this was one man who committed these crimes and he will answer for these crimes. Leave religion out of the equation.

Answer-Normally nothing mate- but when the leader/founder of that religeon is himself guilty of those same acts people begin to wonder--and when muslims cannot say the name of that "prophet" without an akward and forced 'pbuh' (should be hbuh instead) people begin to wonder,when the prophets and founders of all other great religeons were themselves saintly and did not engage in that type of behaviou unlike this prophet-you begin to ask questions and if this individual was as bold as his prophet he would say it is the will of his allah since his prophet did it too in the name of allah and made it "halal" for his followers.

I have read the comments since my last post. I will neither agree, nor disagree with them. The pros and cons of any particular religion can surely be debated in a forum specifically designed for that purpose. Religion is an emotional subject for those devoted to it. But surely a man convicted for sexual crimes, whatever religion he purports to support, is not a forum for religious debate, point scoring, or propaganda of any type. Using this particular forum is self defeating and dangerous. This was one man, one crime. FULL STOP. Separate the man from the religion. I grew up in an era where men in mainland Britain were kicked senseless, or worse. Their crime was that they spoken with an Irish accent – nothing more. But public hysteria was whipped by National Press etc into thinking that anyone with an Irish accent was a terrorist bomber. And what have we learned? Nothing it appears. Homophobia and the aids epidemic, where public hysteria was whipped up by the National press and other News Media leading people to believe that speaking to a gay man would give you aids. The results were innocent men being kicked senseless or worse. Now because of the tragic situation and the aftermath of the 9/11 crime, here we go again, only with a different target. A German historian once said, “Hitler first went after the Communists, but I wasn’t a Communist so I didn’t object. Then he went after the Trade Unionists, but I wasn’t a Trade Unionist, so I didn’t object. Then he went after the Jews, but I wasn’t a Jew, so I didn’t object. Then he came after me, and I looked around and there was no one left to object”. All I am asking people to do is stop and think for five minutes before they enter into this “debate”. Think about what I have said, it is said with good intention and not meaning to insult in any way whatsoever.

You obviously are a fair minded person and decent person. I dont think anyone supports violence (except Koran and those who follow it) against any person for what thay believe or based on their appearance. this board is about Islam and when someone is so closely connected with that faith and when that faith supports sexual attacks and rapes in words and by example of their prophet how can you seperate the religon from the man?
