Introduction

The software giant Microsoft will launch its latest operating system (OS)WINDOWS VISTA in January 2007. The new version would have enhanced security and search features, besides a new user interface, said the spokesperson of the company.

Microsoft Corporation started in 1971. Eventually it came out with the first Windows v.1.0 operating system software. There had been a long and arduous journey by Microsoft to reach at 'Windows Vista'. We dare not say Microsoft plagiarized to create Windows v.1.0. But they were rather 'inspired' by many features of another GUI based OS which prevailed in the market at that time. Though comparatively Windows is not a class operating system software now, but it is indeed one for the masses.

Nevertheless, by next January many of us would get busy using and evaluating this new Windows Vista OS irrespective of its deficiencies. Meanwhile, attention has been drawn towards a never-evaluated, much used, yet maligned and still wonderful OS, Islam.exe. Incidentally, prior to writing this exceptionally brilliant OS, many of its feature existed in other similar software systems. Again, let us presume this as happenstance.

It is beyond the scope of this review to detail a comprehensive technical review of this youngest-among-all-of-its-kind operating software. We would just present a brief overview of the same. For interested readers, academicians and user of such OSs, we would request them to visit islam-watch.org to know in depth about user feedback and to learn more about this software.

Description

ISLAM.EXE Alpha Version 0.7.2, is primarily a virtual operating system. It is unique among all such OS available in the world. Though it is labeled as 'alpha version 0.7.2', in reality it had never been upgraded to come out of this version and is still in the same stage. It has been noticed that the cataloguer of this software system had a fascination of using the number 72. Conspicuously, this number is cited at many places of the source code. The editorial board could not find a logical explanation for this.

The first and foremost innovative feature is that, this OS does not require any operating platform. It just requires the existence and presence of a cluster of human beings who have never used this software before. The self-extracting and self-executable files operate automatically and creat a unique platform of its own. The algorithm of this OS is so dynamic that every installation varies and differs from each other.

This OS has no physical existence and is not available on any data-transfer medium like floppy, or CD, but can be downloaded from any of 4000+ mirror websites of its parent company. The entire OS is written/printed on hard copy named 'Quran'. Interestingly, this is also the primary user/instruction manual for this OS.

When the system is in operation the main program calls on demand several sub-routines for seemingly logical processing to complete the task in hand. This is a full duplex handshaking operation based on 'Islamologic'. Some of those sub-routines e.g. Hadith, Sunnah, Tafsir, Fiqh, Sharia etc. execute many parallel sets of instructions. Quizzically, these sub-routines are not embedded into the main OS, but depend entirely on its instructions.

Islam.exe has another patentable feature. It can not be installed through InstallationWizard by double clicking the mouse. Also in the absence of any uninstaller it can never be uninstalled. It needs a double-edged BlueSword (TM) to install it anywhere by any user.

The first installed location was the home town of the author of this OS. Thereafter it has been installed at more than 52 countries around the world, cosmetically known as OIC. The company is constantly promoting this OS to make more profit through interrupt signal named 'plunder'. It is also vying to make this OS as the sole software of its kind in the whole world and beyond. Another fascinating feature is, though the source code is said to be same, but each installation differ from the original Arabian version, and also differs between each installation. It has been observed that users of nearly 150 different installations claim their platform to be authentically original, while others are faulty.

The stability factor of this software is zero. The peculiar and highly unstable nature of this OS software can also be found from its crash reports through user feed-back. But it is prohibited to take any corrective steps by anyone. One reason can be attributed to clarify for this sub-normal operational dysfunction. The principal author took 23 years to write the codes single handedly for this long program. It was more like 'shoot-and-scoot' style of functioning. The codes were written and immediately implemented without making the EXE file. Hence, it is presumed that the author forgot what he wrote earlier when writing the codes at a later time.

Also, the author's failing health prompted him to stage-close the project hurriedly. Though this OS has not reached its Beta version, the principal author declared on his death bed, as being complete, perfect and flawless OS sytem in the world in every aspect. The final compilation of the OS took place many years after the death of the principal programmer. In reality it is full of poor coding, loads of syntax errors, erratic termination of subroutines and lack of sequential documentation. Most of the time one encounters anomaly in the main software, vis-??-vis the 'User Instruction Manual' and constantly '404 error message' appear on the screen.

Though it had been a team work, but there is no formal acknowledgement in the Instruction Manual cum Operating System. Though in reality the principal programmer alone has written this software, but for some mysterious reasons beyond the knowledge of this Editorial Board, the principal author has not taken the credit to himself. On the other hand he has totally assigned the entire credit of writing this software to his co-author Mr. Allah. In fact, his other co-authors and colleagues agreed to this during his life time and also abided after his death, on this declaration of authorship.

As it had been observed, numerous governments of user-countries have esteemed faith on Islam.exe 0.7.2 software and use it very devoutly, only when it becomes essential for them to remain on the driving seat of power. They do so mocking another operating system called DemocracyUL.

On the other hand, Governments of all other nations of the world do not use, but respect the entity of Islam.exe for fear of BlueSword technology. These countries are neither willing to import 'fear-factor' technology, nor they want to develop their own indigenous technology. They cling on the same old fashioned DOS like OS 'DemocracyUL'.

Some time during 600+ A.D. this OS had been conceptualized and developed over a period of 23 years, as mentioned before. It had been forcibly installed by the company. Thereafter, installations were carried out without the supervision of the managing team of the software but only with BlueSword^TM.

The main directive for its users have been detailed in one of its self executing sub-routine known as Shariat. We outline some of the main features of this EULA.

Summary of End-User License Agreement

1. TRIAL VERSION COPY. You have to use the Software as long as you live, and also by your future generations for free. The unregistered trial version may be freely distributed, provided the distribution package is not modified in any way. You may make copies of the trial Software as you wish; give exact copies of the original trial Software to anyone; and distribute the trial Software in its unmodified form via electronic means (Internet, BBS's, Shareware distribution libraries, CD-ROMs, etc.). You may not charge any fee for the copy or use of the trial Software itself, but you may charge a distribution fee that is reasonably related to any cost you incur distributing the trial Software (e.g. packaging). The Zakat fund would reimburse your expenditure. But you must not represent in any way that you are selling the Software itself.

2. REGISTERED COPY. After you have accepted the license for Software, you are licensed to copy the Software only into the memory of the number of users corresponding to the number of licenses purchased. The primary user of the computer on which each licensed copy of the Software is installed may make a second copy for his or her exclusive use on a portable computer. You must not duplicate the Software in whole or in part, except that you may make one copy of the Software for backup for your daily use.

Editorial Recommendation and Ratings

The Editorial Board found Islam.exe is not an OS at all for any platform. Its features are similar to a Trojan Virus. Hence, this should be referred to all anti-virus software companies for developing their respective virus updates, so as to prevent any further damages to the human societies. Though few users of this OS claim about its perfection, while on the other hand erstwhile users are rejecting this in droves. Few users also initiated the blasphemous idea of editing and abridging the main source code. But that also would not serve the purpose to eliminate its destructive form and nature.

The rating of this OS is exceptionally poor. In fact this OS should be dumped at once and destroyed fully on war footing. It is also suggested for public welfare to be aware of its lewd and luring screen-shots, wallpapers and screen savers. Those are highly misleading and have no relevance other than to trick the unsuspecting user
