Since the dawn of civilization, man has been making religions and attributing them to God. Democracy can be counted as one of the best of those religions, which we liked so much that we did not attribute to God; we preferred to keep this one to ourselves. Democracy is known and practiced all over the world but is more revered in the West, where people cling to it in a way that reminds us with the Muslims’ obsession with Islam.

Imran Firasat's residency status was revoked by the Spanish government after he released his movie on Muhammad, "The Innocent Prophet". Atrocities and excesses by Muslim rulers in India gave rise to the Bhakti movement. Among all the Hindu cults that sprang up from the Bhakti movement, Sikhism earned displeasure and enmity of the Muslim rulers, including the Mughal Emperors, as it contained an element of militancy to save the Hindus from Muslim atrocities and also taking revenge for the same.

Nihad Awad, executive director and founder of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, declared that the Nairobi Mall Massacre was "An attack on my religion". He also compared the al-Shabaab Muslim Jihadis with Islamophobes by saying:

The idea of a legal ban of the Quran, because of its incitement of hatred, violence and terrorism, may sound incredible today. But trends in recent decades would suggest that it may become a reality in the not-too-distant future.

It may be said that the modern campaign for a legal ban of the Quran started with a petition filed on 29 March, 1985 in the Calcutta High Court in West Bengal, India, asking the Government to confiscate the Quran—whether in Arabic or any other language. The petition—moved by Chandmal Chopra, advocate of Calcutta High Court, Hamangshu Kumar Chakraborthy and Sital Singh under Article 226 of the Constitution of India—asked the court to direct the State of West Bengal to declare the Quran as forfeited to the government on grounds such as below:
